White City Flora
Dried in color-preserving desiccants, mounted on rice paper, and labeled with genus, species, and common name, White City Flora specimens celebrate the remaining plant life in and around Grant Park, Chicago. In Spring of 2016 they were featured in Columbia College Chicago's Hokin Gallery as part of their exhibition, "The Field Notebook."

Woodland Pipe
Oak and sand from the Terrell River County Park in New York; glass from the shores of Lake Michigan in Illinois. Finished in a maple stain and polyurethane.

No two corks are the same, and most of them come from eastern Long Island. Corks, wood glue on plywood.

Probably oak, epoxy with red acrylic paint. Luxfer Tile (lead-tinted glass) designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, ca. 1897
Coke Crate Shelf
I got this old Coke crate at a yard sale; after removing several slats of wood, it became a shelf.

Portrait of a Soldier and His Boy
I based this off of an actual photograph of a soldier walking down an idyllic lane with his young son. Hand-made stencil and spray paint on canvas.

I named a 13-foot skiff after Steve Zissou’s fabled research vessel. Some years later, I made these shirts for my faithful crew. Hand-cut stencil; acrylic spray paint on cotton.
